Dots for Dot
Dots for Dot began a few years ago. The Gem Gallery on Peaks Island began an annual fundraiser for Breast Cancer. It happens every February in the Gallery’s “off season”. A percentage of all the sales go to the Maine Cancer Center. My mom, “Dot Flynn”, Doris Mae (Toohey) Flynn, died of breast cancer in 2001. This was a great opportunity to do something to honor my mother’s memory and create some pieces in a different style.
While I will still continue to do the Gem fundraiser I have decided to add a “Dots for Dot” category to my website.
20% of all “Dots for Dot” sales will go to the Susan G Komen fund.
My daughter Amanda and I do their fundraising walk in October. We are the “Pink Polka Dots” - of course. So, if you have been touched by breast cancer in some way or just love polka dots, I hope you find some things you like.
